The sad truth is that the FDA, Pharmaceutical companies, and the
American Medical Association are all working together to maximize their
profits at our expense.
They try to say that herbs and vitamins do nothing for us, only their
toxic chemical drugs do. Yet, they come up with the food pyramid
and dietary recommendations for diabetics, heart victims, etc.
Most of their drugs are actually derived from so-called "biologically
inactive" herbs. And they are now adding synthetic Vitamin D to
their oseoporosis drugs to boost the effectiveness of calcium
absorption.
The food pyramid is the basis of the
Standard
American
Diet (
S.A.D., and they named it
themselves!) Countries around the world that are adopting our
fast food and S.A.D. based eating guidelines are now experiencing
illness like never before. Obesity and Diabetes were virtually
non-existant in China for example, but with the advent of Burger King
and other fast food restaurants they are now battling these preventable
diseases just like we are.
If the food pyramid was the proper and healthy way to eat, why are
diseases like these ballooning to epic proportions? Why are
cancer, heart disease, arthritis, etc. getting worse in our beloved
country? If packaged, processed, and fast foods are so healthy
then why are we
as a people so unhealthy and overweight?
The definition of insanity is "Doing the same thing over
and over and expecting a different result". Since we eat 2 to 3
times a day, and"We are what we eat", then we should change our eating
habits and paradigms in order to get well again. It is also
vitally important to take vitamin/mineral supplements every day.
The RDA's for nutrients is only meant as a guideline to avoid serious
deficiency. Although they may keep you from serious deficiency
problems, they do nothing for sub-clinical symptoms (such as food
cravings, low energy, depression, susceptibility to colds and flus,
etc.) or vitality and vibrant health.
The way to be healthy and avoid these terrible diseases is simply to
cut the percentage of processed food to no more than 20% of your
weekly diet. So if you eat 3 times a day you will have had 21
meals in one week. Eat NO MORE than 4 or 5 processed or fast-food
meals per week,
and make the rest of your meals and snacks whole foods like God created
them. Yes, that means more work in the kitchen, but isn't your
and your family's longevity and health worth it? And anyway,
Covnenience foods really don't save you that much time!
